Radio alternatives.

Thanks for the overview of progressive voices on the radio ("Hot Air," by David Hoffman, June 2005). The question was raised about whether a syndicated radio show featuring discussions of faith, politics, and culture from a progressive perspective could succeed. Our program, Day 1 (formerly The Protestant Hour), celebrates its 60th anniversary this year. Day 1 airs every week on some 160 radio stations proclaiming the moderate/progressive Christian faith through interviews and messages by some of the best mainline Protestant preachers of our day. We're one of the very few alternatives to the evangelical and Religious Right programs that dominate the airwaves,
