 Dirceu Dirceu, real name José Guimarães Dirceu, (born june 15, 1952 in Rio de Janeiro, died September 15, 1995) was a football player from Brazil. He played as an attacking midfielder with many teams, in particular Botafogo and the Brazilian national team.  to resign has rocked the government's coalition and the nation. Dirceu was accused of neglecting to stop members of the ruling party from bribing legislators and a post-office employee to support government initiatives. The former cabinet member says he is innocent. Congress has opened a probe into the matter, which Lula wants resolved well before next year's presidential elections.
