:RACK), a leading provider of servers and storage products for large-scale data centers, today announced the adoption of the newest Intel([R]) Xeon([R]) processor series into its broad family of energy-efficient servers, available within 30 days. The new low wattage processors draw a mere 50 watts of power, enabling even greater performance per watt per square foot when paired with Rackable Systems' award-winning servers and storage systems.

Rackable Systems unveiled the world's first cabinet of publicly-demonstrated quad-core servers in August of 2006 at the Intel([R])Developer Forum. The newest line of servers leveraging the Quad-Core Intel([R]) Xeon([R]) processors L5320 and L5310 extend Rackable Systems' leadership in quad-core computing, enabling dramatic reduction in power consumption while maintaining superior performance.

"Our newest low wattage servers demonstrate our ongoing commitment to green technology and reducing data center operational expenses," said Giovanni Coglitore, chief technology officer at Rackable Systems. "With Intel's new 50 watt Quad-Core processors inside Rackable Systems' thermally efficient servers, we can meet companies' computing needs while effectively managing skyrocketing energy costs."

Rackable Systems' server and storage products provide an ideal solution for a broad range of data center applications, from Web hosting Making a Web site available on the Internet. Many ISPs host a few personal Web pages for an individual at no additional cost above the monthly service fee, but the address is subordinate to the ISP; for example, www.friendlyisp.com/pat_smith.  to High Performance Computing, financial services The examples and perspective in this article or section may not represent a worldwide view of the subject.

, oil and gas and entertainment. The company's unique server designs support the full range of Intel processors and are delivered fully racked and cabled, enabling faster deployment times and easier serviceability (system) serviceability - The ease with which corrective maintenance or preventative maintenance can be performed on a system (e.g. by a hardware service technician). Higher serviceability improves availability and reduces service cost.
