UNDER-FIRE champion jockey Kieren Fallon made a dream return to the saddle yesterday.

He celebrated the end of his 21-day suspension with a victory in the last at Kempton.

After the Eoghan O'Neill-trained Petardias Magic had stormed clear to win by a length and a half Fallon said: 'That's one down and 199 to go! It's probably been the longest three weeks of my life.

'The championship is always on my mind and all I want to do now is to get back to doing what I know I do best riding as many winners as I can.

'It's been so frustrating watching Frankie Dettori riding all those winners when I couldn't do anything about it.'

And in-form Dettori hammered home the point, scoring on Privy Seal (9-1) and Prince Charming (4-6) before Fallon even got off the mark.

Asked about his controversial defeat on Ballinger Ridge at Lingfield last month, Fallon added: 'That will never be over.

'I knew I blotted my copybook but I'm determined to forget about it and continue to try to make amends.'

Earlier Hathrah served notice that she could be a force in the 1000 Guineas when destroying her rivals in the Masaka Stakes.

John Dunlop's filly was well supported and backers never had a moment's worry as Richard Hills brought the grey home nine lengths clear of Coqueteria. But Dunlop wants to assess the strength of a couple of his other Guineas entries, who are due to run in other trials, before making firm plans for Hathrah.

He has it in the back of his mind that she could have the necessary stamina to go for the Vodafone Oaks.

Dunlop said: 'I think she'll get further and if you look at her pedigree there's plenty of stamina there.'

One of the biggest cheers of the day came when Anak Pekan, a heavily backed 9-4 favourite, made all under Philip Robinson to land the Queen's Prize by five lengths.

And Silence Is Golden proved impending motherhood needn't be a bar to success when she fought off Dumaran in the Rosebery Handicap to give apprentice Frankie McDonald his biggest career success.
