 RYKOFF-SEXTON ANNOUNCES PROMOTION OF JEROME C. REICH
 TO VICE PRESIDENT OF MANUFACTURING
 LOS ANGELES, March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Rykoff-Sexton Inc. (NYSE: RYK) today announced the promotion of Jerome C. Reich to vice president of manufacturing for the company's Los Angeles plant.
 He will succeed James I. Maslon, a 25-year veteran of the company who plans to retire effective Oct. 1, 1992.
 "Jim has been an important influence on the growth and development of Rykoff-Sexton's manufacturing operations," said Roger W. Coleman, president and chief executive officer. "Under his leadership, our manufacturing operations have expanded greatly, giving us an important competitive edge within the foodservice industry."
 Reich, 53, joined Rykoff-Sexton in 1987 as manager of molded plastic products. He started and supervised the company's manufacturing operations for plastic cutlery, straws and bottle blow molding. Before joining the company, Reich was president of Winkler Flexible, a Los Angeles-based plastics manufacturer. Earlier in his career, he held various executive positions with Presto Products, formerly a Coca-Cola subsidiary based in Wisconsin.
 A graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a bachelor's degree in economics, Reich was a member of the board of advisors to the chancellor of his alma mater. He is also a member of the board of directors of the Los Angeles chapter of Goodwill Industries.
 Rykoff-Sexton Inc. is a leading manufacturer and distributor of food and related products for restaurants, institutions and membership warehouse stores nationwide. Manufacturing, processing and packaging operations are based in Los Angeles; Indianapolis; Englewood, N.J.; Brooklyn, N.Y.; and Des Moines, Iowa. The company's 31 distribution centers are located throughout the United States.
