RVSI GETS $1.3M ORDER FOR SEMICONDUCTOR ASSEMBLY EQUIPMENT.

Robotic Vision Systems Inc. (RVSI RVSI Robotic Vision Systems, Inc. (Canton, MA)
RVSI Robotic Visions Systems, Inc. (Nashua, New Hampshire)
) (Nasdaq: ROBV) announced it has received a $1.3 million order for its Vanguard Automation division for chip assembly equipment systems from a European subcontract chip manufacturer. The order is for RVSI Vanguard's complete ball attach line for use in ball grid array “BGA” redirects here. For other uses, see BGA (disambiguation).

A ball grid array (BGA) is a type of surface-mount packaging used for integrated circuits.
integrated circuit integrated circuit (IC), electronic circuit built on a semiconductor substrate, usually one of single-crystal silicon. The circuit, often called a chip, is packaged in a hermetically sealed case or a nonhermetic plastic capsule, with leads extending from it for  fabrication fabrication (fab´rikā´shn),

The company's PowerPlace line is a completely automated ball attach process that includes the VAi 6300 Ball Placement System, reflow oven, cleaner and material handling equipment. The VAi 6300 Ball Placement System offers the ability to process semiconductor packages with the lowest possible cost of ownership of any ball placement system available today. It supports a wide variety of BGA (Ball Grid Array) A popular surface mount chip package that uses a grid of solder balls as its connectors. Available in plastic and ceramic varieties, BGA is noted for its compact size, high lead count and low inductance, which allows lower voltages to be used.  formats including single devices in boats or trays and strip devices in magazines with the capability to process chip scale packages, plastic ball grid array, ceramic ball grid array CBGA (Ceramic Ball Grid Array) is a type of package design for microcontrollers and IC(Integrated circuit). , tape grid array, and connector package types.
