 RUTH R. MCMULLIN ELECTED DIRECTOR OF FLEET FINANCIAL GROUP
 PROVIDENCE, R.I., May 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Ruth R. McMullin has been elected to Fleet Financial Group's Board of Directors, it was announced today by Terrence Murray, chairman and chief executive officer.
 McMullin is acting president and chief executive officer of the Harvard Business School Publishing Group, which includes all Harvard Business School publishing activities: Harvard Business Review, the Harvard Business School Press, HBS video programs, and HBS teaching materials.
 McMullin also serves as one of three members of the chairman's committee of UNR Industries, a steel products company based in Chicago, acting as chief executive officer while conducting a search for the next chief executive officer. In this interim role, she has three operating divisions of the company, as well as the finance function, reporting to her.
 From 1987 to 1990, McMullin was with John Wiley & Sons, Inc., serving as president and chief executive officer during 1989-90. Wiley is a publicly traded, family-controlled company engaged in publishing and management training. McMullin also was a senior vice president at GECC Capital Markets Group, Inc.; vice president, general manager and treasurer of Weston Woods, Inc., and has held executive positions at Doubleday and Co., Inc. and McGraw Hill, Inc.
 A member of the boards of Bausch & Lomb, Inc., UNR Industries, and Middlesex Assurance Co., McMullin Also is a director of the Yale University Press, and the Mathematical Sciences Education Board (National Academy of Sciences), and a past director of Connecticut Health Plan. She is a member of the Dean's Advisory Board at the Yale School of Organization and Management.
 McMullin is a graduate of Connecticut College and holds a master's degree in management from the Yale School of Organization and Management. She and her family live in Westport, Conn.
