RUST ANNOUNCES OPPORTUNITY TO BID ON TWO AIR FORCE CLEAN UP CONTRACTS

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Rust International Inc. (NYSE: RST) announced today that the Chemical Waste Management, Inc. (NYSE: CHW) Remedial Services Group, which now operates as a part of the Rust organization, has been advised by the U.S. Air Force that it was awarded one of four contracts for the opportunity to bid on the clean up of hazardous waste sites at Kelly Air Force Base.
The estimated total contract price of the four Indefinite Quantity Task Order Contracts is $195 million over five years. The contracts entitle each of the four firms to bid competitively for remedial projects at the air force base located near San Antonio, Texas. Each contract extends over a one-year period, followed by four one-year options exercisable by the government based on contractor performance.
Rust also said the award at Kelly Air Force Base follows an announcement on Dec. 27, 1993 that the Chemical Waste Management Remedial Services Group was one of six companies selected to clean up Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, UT. This award also extends over a one-year period, followed by four one-year options exercisable by the government. The project has an estimated contract price of $400 million over five years. Again, each of the six firms will have the opportunity to compete for remedial project work.
