Some residents said their streets were in good shape and provided smooth driving. ``It looks pretty good to me,'' said Antonia Branch, a 21-year resident of Yankee Drive. ``I think that it's OK. I haven't noticed that it's breaking down.'' None of the streets on the repair list is in complete disrepair, and the program should prevent them from getting that way. ``The streets are in fairly good shape,'' Thorsen said. ``They're all pretty much drivable.'' Although some streets will have temporary closures of single lanes, ``people will be able to pass through at all times,'' Thorsen said. The city chose to fix the streets now because it had saved money after a few years of letting routine maintenance fall behind schedule. ``We're probably losing ground in our overlay program,'' he said.
