The students were selected by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) is an independent, not-for-profit organization that operates without government assistance. NMSC conducts two annual competitions for recognition and scholarships--the National Merit Scholarship Program, which is open to all to receive scholarships given by RR Donnelley to children of its employees and retirees. The renewable four-year scholarships range from $2,000 to $4,000, depending on each student's financial need. More than 140 students applied for the scholarships.
