The Ducks might have slept through the game had it not been for Dominic Roussel Dominic Roussel (born February 22, 1970 in Hull, Quebec) is a retired professional ice hockey goaltender. Playing career

, who managed to stay awake long enough to give Anaheim a 2-2 tie.

``Roussel made some saves he didn't even see,'' said Ottawa Senators The Ottawa Senators (French: Les Sénateurs d'Ottawa) are a professional men's hockey team based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. They are members of the Northeast Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL).  left wing Shawn McEachern Shawn McEachern (born February 28, 1969 in Waltham, Massachusetts) is a retired National Hockey League forward and current assistant coach for the Northeastern University Huskies collegiate hockey program. , who scored both goals for the Senators, including the tying goal with six seconds remaining.

McEachern, who received a 10-minute misconduct with 1:44 left in overtime after complaining to referee Kerry Fraser about a non-call, wasn't satisfied with the 2-2 tie his team earned Monday night.

``I think we deserved two points,'' said McEachern, who scored Ottawa's first goal on the game's first shot. ``Every one of our lines spent most of the night in their zone.''

Ottawa outshot Anaheim 39-16, and dominated play in the second and third periods, with 19-5 and 14-4 shot margins.

``They were taking shots from everywhere,'' said Roussel. ``It was a lot of work to get the point.''

Ducks coach Craig Hartsburg was asked if the tie was like kissing his sister.

``Tonight, we should feel lucky if anybody wants to kiss us,'' he said, finding nothing other than Roussel's performance to redeem his team. ``They outworked us and outplayed us.''

Anaheim is unbeaten in eight consecutive games against Ottawa dating back to 1993, and is 6-2-1 lifetime against the Senators.

With Ron Tugnutt on the bench for an extra attacker, and the Ducks' Pascal Trepanier just back on the ice after serving an interference penalty, McEachern buried a rebound over Roussel to salvage the point for Ottawa. The two goals give McEachern 15 on the season, tops on the Senators.

``We've got to be happy with the way we continue to battle,'' said Tugnutt, who has allowed more than two goals only once in his past nine games.

``You get a point and you deserve two. Last time, we deserved two and didn't get any,'' Tugnutt said.
