Paul Kariya Paul Tetsuhiko Kariya (born October 16, 1974 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada), is a professional ice hockey player who plays for the St. Louis Blues. Boston 7, Vancouver 3: Jozef Stumpel scored twice during a four-goal first period, leading the Bruins to victory over the Canucks at home in what was Boston's biggest goal binge of the season.

Steve Heinze also had two goals for Boston.

When Rick Tocchet went in alone to score at 5:05 of the second period, making it 5-1, it was as many goals as the Bruins had scored in one game this season.

Buffalo 3, Ottawa 0: Dominik Hasek made 31 saves in his second straight shutout, and Derek Plante scored two goals as the Sabres beat the Senators at home.

Defenseman Mike Wilson scored the only goal Hasek needed in the first period for the Sabres, who won for the fourth time in five games. Plante had a goal in the first period, then hit an empty net with 16.2 seconds remaining in the game.

N.Y. Islanders 2, Washington 0: Tommy Salo stopped 23 shots in his first NHL NHL Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, see there  shutout and Zigmund Palffy scored two goals as the Islanders beat the Capitals in Landover, Md.

It was the second straight victory for the Islanders, who have six wins this season - including three against Philadelphia and two against Washington.

Palffy scored a short-handed goal in the second period and got his team-high 16th of the season with 10:38 left in the third.

Edmonton 4, San Jose 2: Goaltender Curtis Joseph continued his domination of the Sharks, leading the Oilers to a road victory with a 25-save performance.

Joseph, who has also played for the St. Louis Blues, owns a 16-1-0 career record against San Jose.`
