Brodeur turned away 36 shots for his 13th career shutout. His last was a 5-0 win last March 15 over Tampa Bay.

The Oilers failed to clear the puck and Lemieux was able to skate away from traffic and put a shot past Bob Essensa's glove for his seventh goal. Lemieux has points in seven consecutive games.

N.Y. Islanders 1, N.Y. Rangers 1: Adam Graves scored with 2:33 left in regulation as the Rangers pulled out a 1-1 tie with the Islanders with Wayne Gretzky going scoreless for the first time in 16 games.
