Ricky Nathiesen's 82-yard touchdown pass to Leon Pimky with 26 seconds remaining gave Granada Hills High School Granada Hills Charter High School (Granada Hills High School) is a public, charter, co-educational, secondary school consisting of students in grades 9-12. The school colors are green, black, and white.  a 28-26 upset victory over Royal Friday night at Granada Hills. It was the Highlanders' first win since 1994.

Pimky scored on an 85-yard pass in the first quarter that gave Granada Hills a 12-7 lead. Pimky finished the game with six catches for 239 yards and two touchdowns.

Royal, however, fought back, taking a 14-12 lead into halftime on a 26-yard scoring run by Bryant Phipps, his first of three.

Royal continued to try to pull away in the second half when Phipps ran for his second touchdown, this time for 2 yards, to increase Royal's lead to eight.

Granada Hills regained the lead on Jausten Thompson's 1-yard touchdown and Chris Cole's 36-yard field goal.

But Royal answered with Phipps, who rushed for an 11-yard touchdown with 6:20 left in the game, to put his team back on top 26-21. Pimky's heroics just moments later sealed Royal's fate.

St. Francis 28, Verdugo Hills 6: Robert Milton Robert Milton is the current Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of ACE Aviation Holdings Inc. (ACE), the parent company of Air Canada.  rushed for 236 yards and three touchdowns as the Golden Knights (1-1) wore down an undermanned Verdugo Hills team (1-1) in a nonleague game at St. Francis.

After trailing 14-0 at halftime, the Dons got their only score when Charlie Coronado ran back the second-half kickoff 96 yards.

In the fourth quarter, Verdugo Hills appeared to score the tying touchdown when Coronado caught an 80-yard pass from Ethan Slimak. However, Coronado was called for pass interference on the play.

After Verdugo Hills punted, St. Francis drove 53 yards in four plays for the clinching touchdown. Milton gained all 53 yards, capping the drive with an 18-yard scoring run.

The Golden Knights scored their final touchdown on a 58-yard run by backup tailback Darrius Brown.

Verdugo Hills' leading rusher was Sean Standley, who gained 81 yards on 15 carries, but played little in the second half after twisting an ankle.

Eagle Rock 17, La Salle 12: In an intersectional game between Eagle Rock from L.A. City and La Salle from Southern Section, the Eagles prevailed 17-12.

The visiting Eagles improved to 2-0 behind the running of senior tailback John Fontamillas who had 25 carries for 159 yards. Senior fullback Marco Valverde contributed two rushing touchdowns and kicks two PATs and a 38-yard field goal.
