Barstow 4, Littlerock 1: Mike Aiken and Frank Landano each had two hits for the Lobos.

Providence 19, Oakwood 0: Dustin Wride, a transfer from Burroughs, struck out 17 in a two-hit shutout for the visiting Pioneers (3-2, 1-0). Tim Mirkovich went 5 for 5 with five RBI.

Santa Paula 12, Moorpark 4: Ryan Yoshiwara, Justin Ames and Eric Franco each had two hits in a Frontier League loss for the visiting Musketeers (2-3, 0-1).

Saugus 15, Valencia 3: Kyle Jolly had two hits to lead the Centurions over the Vikings. Bucky Downs was 2 for 3 for Valencia.

Hoover 5, La Canada 0: Senior Tina Kinney threw a one-hitter, striking out 11, and tripled to lead the Tornadoes (3-3) past the Spartans (7-1) in the semifinals of the Hoover tournament.

No. 8 Hart 3, No. 9 Granada Hills 1: Mary Colleran struck out six and Natalie Capiro drove in two runs as the Indians (7-2) advanced to today's 3 p.m. championship game in the Hoover tournament.

Birmingham 15, Canoga Park 1: Sophomore Yvonne Velasquez homered, doubled, singled and drove in four runs for the visiting Braves (3-1).

Alemany 2, Harvard-Westlake 0: Regina Yuhisz had two hits as the Indians (5-2, 1-0) won their Mission League opener.

Canyon 9, St. Anthony 1: Mika Cooper hit a two-run home run and Tammy Hughes doubled twice as the Cowboys (5-2) reached the Duarte tournament final.

CS Northridge 7-1, New Mexico 1-0: Julie Sessler's two-out RBI single in the bottom of the 11th inning gave the No. 5-ranked Matadors a doubleheader sweep. In the first game, pitcher Jennifer Richardson homered, doubled and struck out four for her 10th victory.
