Cheshier ended the game with his home run to left field, his third for the season. The redshirt freshman from Highland High in Palmdale has been one of the surprise stars for a Northridge team ranked 12th nationally. Hawaii (16-9, 3-3) is now 0-10 lifetime at Northridge.

The two schools started a second game Wednesday that was halted in the top of the fourth inning with a 0-0 score because of rain. It will be resumed when the two teams play in Hawaii next month.
