The Antelope Valley College Antelope Valley College is a comprehensive community college located in Lancaster, California, USA. It is operated by the Antelope Valley Community College District, with a primary service area of 1,945 square miles covering portions of Los Angeles and Kern counties.  men's basketball team has finally made it past the second round of the Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region,  Regional playoffs.

With Jerome Payton scoring 17 points, the Marauders (26-6) defeated visiting Mount San Antonio Mount San Antonio, better known to most in Los Angeles as Old Baldy or Mount Baldy, is the highest peak in the San Gabriel Mountains of Southern California, USA and the highest point in Los Angeles County. Mount San Antonio has two summits.  College 77-72 Wednesday night.

It is the first time in seven years under coach Newton Chelette that Antelope Valley has advanced this far in the playoffs. One more victory will send the Marauders to the state tournament.

Brian Burleson scored 14 points and Mike Salser added 12 for Antelope Valley.

Riverside 94, Valley 82: The Monarchs were knocked out of the regional playoffs by the host Tigers for the second consecutive year. LaMarr Thompson scored 26 points for Valley.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Riverside 84, Canyons 58: Alicia Rubio scored 23 points and hit all nine of her free throws as the Tigers (25-9) beat the Cougars (20-13) in a playoff game at Riverside.

Canyons was led by Melissa Dunkerley's 17 points but shot 34 percent from the field and made one of nine 3-pointers in the second half.

Antelope Valley 8, Valley 4: Audri Heath went 2 for 5, including a two-run triple, as the Marauders (6-3) won a nonconference game at Valley. Kady Kepner went 2 for 3 with two RBI RBI

COLLEGE BASEBALL

CS Northridge 9-10, Cal Baptist 4-1: Catcher Robert Fick went 6 for 10 on the day as the No. 3-ranked Matadors (17-1) swept a nonconference doubleheader, increasing their win streak to 12 games.

Northridge will resume Western Athletic Conference The Western Athletic Conference (commonly referred to as the WAC, pronounced "wack") was formed on July 27, 1962, making it the sixth oldest of the 11 college athletic conferences currently participating in the NCAA's Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS; formerly  action with a three-game home series against Fresno State on Friday.

 7: The Lions scored five runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to post a come-from-behind victory. Travis Wilson went 4 for 4.

Zak Ammirato had three hits and three RBI for UCLA (11-6), which also received three hits from Jon Heinrichs, Eric Byrnes and Jack Santora.

Long Beach State 3, Pepperdine 2: Junior center fielder Mark Lopez, a Chatsworth High graduate, hit an RBI double for the Waves (7-9), who lost a nonconference game at Pepperdine.

Grant 434, Birmingham 437: Birmingham's Greg Goodfried fired a 78, but Grant's depth led to a City 5-A conference win at Hansen Dam. Jordan DiNapoli (82) and Tyler Foster (84) paced the Lancers lanc·er
