ROUNDUP: WESTLAKE MOVES ON IN GOLF PLAYOFFS.

Marshall Colby had eight birdies and shot a 4-under 67 to lead Westlake High in the Southern Section Northern Division tournament Monday at Soule Park Golf Club in Ojai.

Teammate Brandon Hagy, the Marmonte League MVP, shot even-par 71.

Westlake (358) and West Ranch of Stevenson Ranch (364), the top two schools in the Northern Division tournament, advanced to the Southern Section finals Thursday at Candlewood Country Club in Whittier. Royal of Simi Valley, last year's Northern champion, was third (368).

Collin Wheeler shot a 2-under 69 to lead West Ranch.

Johnny MacArthur of Hart of Newhall shot the low round of the tournament. He was 5-under 66.

Harvard-Westlake of Studio City advanced to the Southern Section tournament by finishing second in the Western Division at Montebello Golf Course.

Glen Scher shot a 3-under 68 to lead Harvard-Westlake, which shot 371 as a team.

Beverly Hills won the Western Division tournament with a team score of 366.

SOFTBALL

Flintridge Sacred Heart 3, Louisville 0: Jessica Ferri threw a four-hitter for Flintridge Sacred Heart of La Canada Flintridge in a Mission League victory.

Ferri struck out 10 and was 2 for 3 at the plate with a double for Flintridge Sacred Heart (10-9, 4-5). She drove in a run in the first inning and scored a run.

Rebecca Kratz (1-5) pitched a complete game for Louisville (4-16, 0-9) and struck out six.

Alemany 3, Notre Dame 2: Stephanie Cuevas had an RBI single in the sixth inning, a crucial insurance run for Alemany of Mission Hills, in a Mission League win over Notre Dame.

The RBI by Cuevas gave Alemany a 3-0 lead. Notre Dame's Dani Marino cut the lead to 3-2 with a two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning.

But the rally ended there for Notre Dame (15-11, 4-5).

Carlie Lucas had two triples and stole home in the third inning for Alemany (18-8, 8-1).

Lindsey Webster (18-6) had eight strikeouts and held Notre Dame scoreless for the first six innings.

Chaminade 11, Harvard-Westlake 4: Megan Tupper was 3 for 5 with four RBIs of Chaminade of West Hills in a Mission League win over Harvard-Westlake of Studio City (8-17, 3-6).

Brittany Cervantes hit a solo home run in the second inning and scored twice for Chaminade (14-10, 8-1).

Madison Zymkowitz was 1 for 3 with an RBI and two runs scored.
