After falling behind by two goals in the first 15 minutes, St. Francis of La Canada stormed back and shut down visiting Ganesha in a 4-2 Southern Section Division IV quarterfinal victory at St. Francis.

--La Canada 4, Bishop Montgomery 1: Despite scoring a goal for Bishop Montgomey on a cross that hit a defender and bounced in, undefeated La Canada scored four of its own goals en route to victory in a Division IV quarterfinal game at La Canada.

Nick Marquand and Phil Kinney each scored two goals and assisted each other on one to lead the Spartans (22-0-1).

Erick Irvine and Lonnie Dietz each had an assist for La Canada. The Spartans outshot Bishop Montgomery 19-6.

--Notre Dame 2, Lompoc 1: The Knights stunned No. 2 Lompoc in a Division IV quarterfinal game at Lompoc.

After winning their first two playoff games by a combined score of 14-6, Notre Dame Notre Dame IPA: [nɔtʁ dam] is French for Our Lady, referring to the Virgin Mary. In the United States of America, Notre Dame  turned on the defense and goalie Chris Alexander made 10 saves.

Leila Pate added two goals for the No. 2 Chancellors. Her first score was on a header in the 30th minute and later she scored on a shot that deflected off the Westchester goalie.

Lindsey Redlin had two assists and scored what might have been Chatsworth's most spectacular goal of the season. She took a pass on the right side and curled in a shot from 40 yards out to give Chatsworth a 3-0 halftime lead.

With the win, Poly (8-6-1) got revenge for a fourth-place finish in the Sunset Six League, in which the Hunters (8-4-3) finished third.

--Garfield 2, Verdugo Hills 0: The Dons let the game slip away five minutes into the second half when a defender muffed a pass attempt which ended into Verdugo Hills' net for an own-goal in a City Invitational game at home.

Garfield (8-5-1) plays Poly Tuesday.

--Locke 3, SOCES SOCES Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies  2: Catie Caparula and Karina Moran each scored unassisted goals for SOCES of Reseda but the team fell short in a City Invitational quarterfinal game.

SOCES (8-4), which finished 6-3 in the Magnet League, made history with its playoff run as it was the only team from its league ever to reach the quarterfinals.
