ROUNDUP: NO-HITTER SENDS OAKS CHRISTIAN TO ANOTHER FINAL.

Oaks Christian of Westlake Village has done it again. With no seniors on its roster, the Lions (29-4) advanced to their second consecutive Southern Section Division VI final behind the strong pitching from juniors Ashlee Freeman and Sara Radabaugh.

Freeman and Radabaugh combined for a no-hitter with eight strikeouts to lead Oaks Christian to a 11-0 victory over Capistrano Valley Christian in a semifinal at Saddleback College Academics
Saddleback College offers a wide range of programs in Advanced Technology and Applied Sciences, including courses in Aviation, Marine Science, Computer Science and Fashion Design. The academics are closely linked to Irvine Valley College, also part of the SOCCCD.

Oaks Christian will face Faith Baptist of Canoga Park in the final at Barber Park in Irvine on either Friday or Saturday. The schedule of the championship games in all divisions will be released today.

--Faith Baptist 11, Linfield 1: Alexis Garcia hit a home run for the visiting Contenders in the semifinal victory.

Jessica Velasquez, Ivette Hernandez, Devina Quintero and Nadia Pelpola each had extra base hits for Canoga Park (26-7).

In a Division IV game:

--Oak Park 1, Western 0: Jannel Buckley singled home Nicole Purkey in the fifth inning to give Oak Park (20-10) a victory over the host Pioneers of Anaheim in the semifinal game at Western High.

Buckley's hit a blooper that barley hit the center-field grass and capped a two-out rally against freshman pitcher Jennifer McElroy. Oak Park had managed only one hit against McElroy (20-6) before the fifth.

Purkey had an infield hit Infield hit is when a ball doesn't go outfield (stays infield), but neither the batter nor any of the runners are put out. If the batter and the runners reach safely due to an error, it is not considered an infield hit.  and Melissa Jacobs lined a clean single to left. Buckley followed with her game-winning hit.

``I told the girls if we scratch two or three runs, that might be enough,'' Oak Park coach Roger Newell said.

Mellisa Johnson (18-5) allowed four hits and struck out two for Oak Park, which advances to play Orange Lutheran in its first championship final.
