Trailing by four points midway through the fourth quarter, the Eagles (21-3) went on a 10-0 run to take 64-58 lead. Junior point guard Alex Martino (13 points) connected on two 3-pointers during the run to move Hillcrest Christian into the semifinals next Tuesday.

Eric Hodgkins led the Eagles with 25 points, 14 rebounds and 4 steals. Nat scored 19 points and added eight rebounds and four assist and Martino chipped in with seven rebounds and three assist for Hillcrest Christian.

Adam Townsend added 18 points and 19 rebounds and Dominick Lacost had 13 points for Kilpatrick (25-1).

--Glendora 73, Loyola 63: Guard tandem Kyle Bechler and Larry Monroe scored 30 and 22 points respectively to lead the host Tartans (25-4) past the Cubs (18-9) in a Division I-AA quarterfinal game.

The Cubs had no answer for Bechler, who got the first 15 points, including three 3-pointers, in the third quarter. Loyola was also hurt by seven third-quarter turnovers (and 16 for the entire game).

In girls' basketball:

--Granada Hills 60, Marshall 56: Junior guard Kelly Beckler scored 28 second half points to lead the visiting Highlanders (16-12) over the Barristers (19-7) at Eagle Rock.

Beckler finished with 33 points and seven steals. She was 12 of 12 from the free throw line, including 6 of 6 in the final minute.

Senior center Kelly Patterson scored six points and had seven rebounds. Senior point guard Niloo Bavarian had seven points and seven assists.
