J.F. Jomphe's first goal of the season helped Anaheim extend its unbeaten streak to five games as the visiting Mighty Ducks skated to a 3-3 tie with the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday night.

The Ducks, hopelessly out of the playoff picture, nonetheless won three straight before Thursday night and are 3-1-2 on a seven-game road trip that ends Saturday at Colorado.

The Red Wings had to settle for their 15th tie in as many overtime games this season.

Sergei Fedorov, Vyacheslav Kozlov and Brendan Shanahan scored for Detroit, with each goal giving the Red Wings the lead. But the Ducks tied the game after every Detroit score, getting goals from Travis Green, Jomphe and Pavel Trnka.

Ducks goaltender Mikhail Shtalenkov made 41 saves while Detroit's Kevin Hodson stopped 25 shots.

St. Louis 3, Tampa Bay 2: Two goals from Brett Hull and another from Al MacInnis lifted the Blues at home.

Hull and MacInnis, who will both be free agents at the end of the year, were playing in their first home game since the Blues said last week that they were breaking off contract talks with the two players. Steve Duchesne, who will also be a free agent, had two assists.

The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Blues. The Lightning have lost seven of their last 11. The Lightning have not beaten the Blues in St. Louis since 1992.

Toronto 1, Dallas 0: Felix Potvin stopped 26 shots for his fifth shutout, and Sergei Berezin got the game's only goal for the visiting Maple Leafs, who ended a five-game winless streak.

Berezin's 15th goal, with 16:18 remaining, wasn't a thing of beauty, but it was enough to stop an 0-4-1 slump by the Maple Leafs. The Maple Leafs had lost their last five games in Dallas.

Florida 5, Montreal 4: Bill Lindsay scored two goals, including the game-winner, as the Panthers snapped a 13-game losing streak with a victory over the visiting Canadiens.

Lindsay's game-winner came with 5:27 left, giving the Panthers their first victory since Jan. 13. The 13 consecutive losses tied a record for the most this season in the NHL and were four shy of the league's all-time mark of 17 straight.

Carolina 4, N.Y. Rangers 1: Martin Gelinas and Keith Primeau scored in 43 seconds of the second period for the host Hurricanes.

With the win, Carolina (28-34-7) moved in front of the New York Rangers (22-33-17) as the two chase Ottawa for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Boston 4, Philadelphia 2: The Bruins' top checking line scored three goals in the first 10 minutes to help them remained unbeaten against the Flyers this season with the home win.

The Bruins, fourth in the race for eight Eastern Conference playoff spots, are 2-0-1 this season against the Flyers, whose road losing streak reached six games.

N.Y. Islanders 4, Pittsburgh 3: Bryan Smolinski's power-play goal with 64 seconds left in the second period broke a tie for the Islanders at Uniondale, N.Y.

New Jersey 2, Colorado 0: Martin Brodeur stopped 23 shots and earned his ninth shutout of the season and 31st of his career as the Devils won in Denver.

Calgary 3, Washington 2: Jason Wiemer scored the winning goal in his debut for the host Flames.

Wiemer, acquired at the trade deadline on Tuesday from the Tampa Bay Lightning, capped Calgary's comeback from a 2-0 deficit by scoring the go-ahead goal at 14:13 of the second period.

Buffalo 5, Vancouver 2: The Sabres scored five times in the third period on five consecutive shots to win the fight-marred contest in Vancouver. Mike Peca scored twice, including the go-ahead goal.
