The Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. The valley was part of the 48,612-acre (19,672.  Rotary Club and the Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  Sunrise Sunrise, city (1990 pop. 64,407), Broward co., SE Fla., a residential suburb 8 mi (13 km) W of Fort Lauderdale; inc. 1961 as Sunrise Golf Village. It is a major office and commercial center and the site of Sawgrass Mills, one of the largest malls in the United States.  Rotary celebrated Rotary International's centennial by donating a garden Wednesday to the city's Sports Complex.

Lookout in the form of a turret, cupola (small, lanternlike dome), or garden house set on a height to give an extensive view. Few late-18th- and 19th-century rustic gazebos survive, but 17th-century turrets built up in an angle of the garden wall are not uncommon.
 now under construction will be the highlight of the garden, which overlooks the Aquatic Center.

Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in allocations, and helps build good will and peace in the world.

``This is a terrific partnership and a tremendous new asset to the Santa Clarita Sports Complex, as it will give visitors the opportunity to enjoy something that is not only beautiful, but has great significance right here in Santa Clarita,'' Mayor Cameron Smyth Cameron Smyth is a Republican who has represented Califoria's 38th Assembly district since December of 2006. He succeeded Keith Richman who was term limited.

Prior to being elected to the state legislature, Assemblyman Smyth served on the Santa Clarita City Council, where he
 said in a prepared statement.
