Morse said, like her husband, she will continue to be involved with the school district, working on special assignments on an as-needed basis. ``I could never leave totally,'' she said. ``I am one of those lucky people in life who have loved their job, the kids, the parents and teachers.'' They both steadily advanced in their careers over the years. Gordon Morse became principal at Keppel in 1975, and stayed on the job for 26 years. Mabel Morse served as principal at Mountain Avenue Elementary from 1975 to 1994. Later she ran La Crescenta and Columbus elementary schools. For the last four years, she has been at Rosemont. Together, the Morses have contributed 78 years of service to the school district. ``One thing you can say about education is it is never dull,'' said Mabel Morse, who vows to always stay involved in her field. |
