It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. The valley was part of the 48,612-acre (19,672. Rose Society will host its 10th anniversary Rose Show, ``Carousel of Roses,'' from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday near the fountain outside J.C. Penney Co. in Valencia Town Center. All rose growers are welcome to exhibit at the show, including novices and children. You do not have to be a member of the society to exhibit and there are no entry fees - just bring your roses and the society will furnish the vases. More than 500 ribbons and 70 crystal giftware prizes will be awarded, including eight large Waterford crystal Waterford Crystal is a trademark brand of crystal glassware produced in Waterford, Ireland, by the company Waterford Wedgwood plc., previously trading as Waterford Glass Ltd. trophies for the top roses. Three novices can win a crystal prize, as well as a gift certificate from Green Thumb Nursery. Entries will be received from 7 to 9:30 on the morning of the show in the parking lot behind Penney's. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region, will exhibit about 1,000 rose specimens, such as the mini roses Fairhope, Miss Flippins, and Behold; hybrid teas like St. Patrick, Gemini and Veteran's Honor; and floribundas like Sexy Rexy, French Lace and Playboy. There will be individual specimens on display, as well as the colorful artist's pallet of five rose blooms, rose blooms floating in bowls of water and rose in a picture frame. Antique roses from the 1800s, David Austin English roses and a table full of most fragrant roses will also be featured. Miniature rose plants in three-inch pots and cut roses will be on sale while supplies last.
