ROSE BOWL SEEKS MAJOR CHANGE.Byline: Janette Williams Staff Writer PASADENA - With the Rose Bowl operating in the black for the first time in years, stadium officials will ask the City Council on Monday Monday: see week. to allow them to hold up to 20 major events a year. The council will also be asked to change the definition of a major event to one attended by at least 30,000 people, up from the present 20,000. At present, the Rose Bowl must receive City Council approval for each major event beyond 12 annually. Most years only 11 to 15 major events are held at the Rose Bowl.
