ROSE BOWL COULD HOST REMATCH.

Byline: Daily News

De La Hoya-Chavez II at the Rose Bowl? It could happen.

Promoter Bob Arum Robert "Bob" Arum (born December 8, 1931 in New York City) is a Harvard-educated lawyer who helped the White House during President John F. Kennedy's time there. He also worked for the US Attorneys Office for the southern district of New York, in the Tax division.  has begun discussions with the Rose Bowl and the fighters, Oscar De La Hoya Oscar de la Hoya (IPA pronunciation: [ˈɑs.kɛɹ dɛ.lɑ.ˈhɔɪ.jɑ][1]) (born February 4, 1973) — nicknamed the Golden Boy  and Julio Cesar Julio Cesar could refer to those people:
  • Julius Caesar, Ancient Roman dictator
  • Julio César González, light-heavyweight boxer
  • Julio César Chávez, Mexican boxer, world champion
Football (soccer) players
Chavez, to hold a rematch of this month's fight in December, probably on pay-per-view television.

``It's still in preliminary discussions,'' Arum arum, common name for the Araceae, a plant family mainly composed of species of herbaceous terrestrial and epiphytic plants found in moist to wet habitats of the tropics and subtropics; some are native to temperate zones.  said. ``It's something we're working on but it's far from set. It's an exciting concept, though.''

De La Hoya La Hoya is a municipality located in the province of Salamanca, Castile and León, Spain. According to the 2004 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 30 inhabitants.  defeated Chavez when their June 7 bout was stopped in the fourth round because of a cut above Chavez's eye, a disappointing conclusion to a much-hyped matchup.

Arum said he believes a rematch would be well received.

``It's still the biggest Mexican fight,'' he said, referring to keen interest among Mexican-American and Mexican fans.

Arum believes the fight would be televised on pay-per-view rather than closed-circuit, as the June 7 bout was. He said cable-television officials have offered the guarantees he had wanted before the earlier fight.

The bout would be part of a three-fight deal that would guarantee De La Hoya around $25 million.

He's scheduled to face Miguel Angel Gonzalez in September and is negotiating to fight Chavez in December and Pernell Whitaker next year.
