ROSAMOND MAN ARRESTED IN FATAL TRUCK COLLISION.

A Rosamond man was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter vehicular manslaughter n. the crime of causing the death of a human being due to illegal driving of an automobile, including gross negligence, drunk driving, reckless driving, or speeding.  after a collision killed one of his passengers and seriously injured another, Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  County sheriff's deputies said.

David Meyers, 40, failed to halt for a stop sign on southbound 30th Street East at Avenue I about 12:15 p.m. Saturday, and his van collided with a pickup truck traveling east on Avenue I, deputies said.

``The impact of the collision blew out the door of the van and ejected two of its passengers,'' said Deputy Doug Lloyd. ``One of the passengers was thrown 50 feet and another one was thrown 10 feet.''

Kenneth Mills, 39, of Lancaster was killed, the Los Angeles County Coroner's office said. Van passenger Steve Thompson Steve Thompson or Steven Thompson may be:

Meyers was being held at the Lancaster sheriff's station on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and driving under a suspended license.
