ROOF REDUX.


117 East 37th Street, between Lexington and Park Avenues, needed a new roof and tank endosure. The managing agent had been working over the year's with Rosenwach Tank and, more recently, with Rosenwach's exterior restoration division, Herbert Rose Herbert Rose (1890 – January 1937) was an Australian painter and etcher.

Rose was born at Windsor, Melbourne the son of George Rose, a photographer. Herbert Rose assisted his father's photographic business, he studied art at the National Gallery of Victoria School from
, Inc. The 55-unit co-op was built in 1955 and, after four-plus decades, it was time for the complete removal and replacement of the roof membrane and bulkhead, as well as the brick foundation upon which the water tank resided. According to according to

The engineering firm of John Flynn supervised the project Rosenwach Tanks took care of installing a new wood tank after the masonry masonry: see brick; concrete; stonework; tile.

 tank enclosure was restored with structural steel framework by Herbert Rose, Inc., which was also responsible for the roof installation and bulkhead renovation.

The roof membrane that was chosen for the job was NDL 1. NDL - National Database Language.

 Manville Roofing System, a 20-year top-of-the-line surface. But the best part of the work at the building is that it was a well-coordinated dual effort between two division of the Rosenwach Group.
