RON RHODY TO LEAVE BANK OF AMERICA

SAN FRANCISCO, April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Ronald E. Rhody, executive vice president and director of Bank of America's corporate communications and external affairs division, will leave the bank at the end of June.
A successor will be named following a review of internal and external candidates, Richard M. Rosenberg, chairman and chief executive officer, said.
Rhody joined BofA in 1983 and has been at the head of its corporate communications operations through a decade that saw some of the corporation's worst and best years -- including a hostile takeover attempt, a dramatic turnaround from one of the industry's poorest performing banks to one of its best performers and the largest merger in banking history.
"There is a school of management theory which holds that 10 years in a job is long enough and after that you ought to re-pot yourself. I completed ten years in this job last month," Rhody said. "Leaving is not an easy decision. This has been the best job in the field and Bank of America the most stimulating organization in the industry to work with. There are, though, other things I want to try and now seems the right time to take that step," Rhody said.
Rosenberg said, "Ron is a consummate professional and has been a key member of our team. We'll miss his contributions, but wish him every success in whatever new undertaking he chooses."
Rhody said he has no immediate plans, but will explore a variety of options in the communications field.
