 ROHR CHAIRMAN ANNOUNCES REORGANIZATION
CHULA VISTA, Calif., Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Robert H. Goldsmith,

chairman and chief executive officer of Rohr Inc. (NYSE: RHR), announced the reorganization of the company into a more customer- responsive organization of 30 profit and loss centers.
Six vice presidents will run the various businesses -- Robert G. Daly, operations; Alek A. Mikolajczak, technology and new business; John R. Johnson, government business; David R. Watson and Donald M. Purdy, commercial business; and Nicholas A. Bucur, customer support. The heads of support functions will have the title of director, the heads of operating functions will have the title of general manager and the individuals who run plants are plant managers. The appointments are effective Oct. 20, 1992, but it may take up to a year to implement the control systems required to measure the performance of each P&L center.
"To be successful and to be competitive, this organization needs to keep its focus on the customer. Our priorities need to be based on external drivers -- not internal," said Goldsmith. "This structure will ensure customer focus and it will also ensure that everyone at all levels will take responsibility for profit and loss."
Rohr designs, integrates, manufactures and supports engine nacelle systems and components for commercial, military and business aircraft. The company also manufactures solid rocket motor casings and nozzles for the Titan IV launch vehicles. Rohr, headquartered in Chula Vista, has facilities in the United States and Europe.
