ROCKWELL INTERNATIONAL SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH WEIR-JONES AUTOMOTIVE

 TROY, Mich., Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Rockwell International Corporation's Body and Chassis Systems business has signed an agreement with Weir-Jones Automotive Inc. of Vancouver, British Columbia, involving the manufacture and sale of an innovative new electronic sensor with microprocessor intelligence which will be used in conjunction with car alarm systems. This sensor will minimize the occurrence of false alarms in vehicles.
 "We're very pleased with this agreement," said Robert A. Calder, executive vice president, Body and Chassis Systems, a unit of Rockwell's Automotive business. "This helps us further position ourselves as major players in the high-growth automotive electronics market."
 The agreement provides for technical assistance and the licensing of proprietary knowledge developed by Weir-Jones Automotive Inc. which will be incorporated in Rockwell electronic access control systems products. The agreement allows Rockwell to manufacture and sell products using Weir-Jones technology to passenger car and truck OEMs on an exclusive worldwide basis and to the aftermarket on a non-exclusive worldwide basis.
 Weir-Jones Automotive (WJA) is a marketing company providing proprietary vehicle intrusion alarm systems and sensors. WJA is a subsidiary of Weir-Jones Engineering Consultants Ltd. of Vancouver. The parent company was established in 1971 and provides specialized instrumentation systems to the global automotive, marine, resource and materials handling industries.
 Rockwell's Automotive business is a leading global supplier of components and systems for passenger cars, light trucks, medium- and heavy-duty trucks and off-highway equipment. Its Body and Chassis Systems business produces roof, door, access control, seat adjusting, suspension systems, as well as plastic products, wheels, and electronics.
