ROCHESTER MEDICAL COMMENCES ARBITRATION

STEWARTVILLE, Minn., Dec. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Rochester Medical Corporation (NASDAQ: ROCM) announced that it has commenced arbitration against Mentor Corporation (NASDAQ-NMS: MNTR).
"We are seeking to enforce the terms of the license Mentor holds from us under the Male External Catheter Agreement," said Anthony J. Conway, company president. "We are asking that Mentor be ordered to assign its conflicting external catheter patent rights to us, and be enjoined from further violations of the license. We are also seeking damages from Mentor for previous violations.
"We have also asked the arbitration panel to declare the Foley Catheter Agreement to be null and void due to Mentor's complete failure to perform that agreement and its repeated statements that it does not intend to purchase any Foley catheters from us."
