ROBUST FAX STORE & FORWARD AND FAX BROADCAST VIA NETFAX SWITCH 400 BY OAZ COMMUNICATIONS

FREMONT, Calif., Jan. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Next Monday at the Pacific Telecommunications Conference, OAZ Communications Inc. is announcing Version 2.0 of the NetFax Switch 400. Fax Store & Forward and Fax Broadcast capabilities to thousands of locations over the data network is offered in this switch from OAZ Communications. The NetFax Switch 400 is built on a high-performance messaging architecture using X.400 and designed to interoperate with other X.400 messaging systems around the world. The distributed architecture managed from a central Control Center means the input and output for worldwide fax traffic can be controlled from a single location. This switch has fully configurable call progress parameters allowing the system to easily connect to any telephone system, domestic or international. A unique stall strategy minimizes retransmission costs because the entire fax document is sent and received in the same call, even when the telephone lines experience interference or network delays. The NetFax Switch 400 starts with a small 8-port configuration, but it is modular in design and can be deployed and expanded to thousands of ports to support a worldwide messaging system.
"Again our experience in designing and delivering fax technology to the major providers, MCI, AT&T and Sprint, has given OAZ the opportunity to test this switch in facilities around the world. We can now deliver very reliable remote monitoring and network management capabilities to domestic and international fax service providers," said Ajay Batheja, president and chief executive officer of OAZ Communications.
The NetFax Switch 400's centralized Control Center offers service providers the many benefits of faxing over data networks. It reduces operating costs because there is no longer a need for operators at each site to manage the fax system. The remote monitoring features enable operations and management of worldwide systems from a central location, while broadcast lists are distributed quickly and efficiently to the closest site. The system also provides comprehensive tools to generate management and activity reports custom-designed by the user. Subscriber lists, broadcast lists, accounting and billing records and real-time transmission records are readily accessed.
