ROBERT P. STRAETZ ELECTED DIRECTOR OF FLEET MORTGAGE GROUP

 COLUMBIA, S.C., Nov. 19 ~PRNewswire~ -- Robert P. Straetz, retired chairman of Textron Inc. has been elected to the board of directors of Fleet Mortgage group, effective Nov. 7, 1992.
 Straetz, 71, served as chairman of Textron, a diversified manufacturing company, from 1980 until his retirement in 1986. He was elected president and a director of Textron in 1978 and served as its chief executive officer from 1980 through 1984. Straetz was with the Homelite division of Textron for 28 years the last five as president. In 1974, he was appointed a group vice president of Textron.
 Born in New Jersey, Straetz, is a graduate of the University of Chicago and attended the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program. Mr. and Mrs. Straetz reside in Jupiter, Fla.
 Fleet Mortgage Group, headquartered in Columbia, S.C., is a leading originator and servicer of mortgage loans. The company originates mortgage loans through 92 branches located in 35 states and acquires new mortgage loans from other lenders through its extensive correspondent network.
