, Young said. His name was not being released until relatives had been notified.

Police learned of the robbery about 4:15 p.m. when they got a 911 call from the Crystal Sonics warehouse, in the 1600 block of South Central Avenue, Young said.

Two men walked into the business, and when a salesman got off the phone, one pulled out a handgun and escorted the salesman and four other employees to the back of the warehouse.

In the service bay, they herded two more employees and a friend whose car they were working on. The men tied up several of the employees, put handcuffs hand·cuff

The owner, who had been tied up in an office, managed to escape his bindings and get a handgun from his desk. When the men returned to the office, he opened fire, wounding one of them, Young said. ``Shots were exchanged for a total of 10 to 15 rounds,'' Young said.

The badly wounded robbery suspect was dragged out by his partner, who took the Accord from the service bay and drove off. Witnesses saw a man dump a body out of a similar car behind the nearby hospital, Young said, adding that the body matches the description of one of the men.

Police are searching for the second robber.

One of the employees suffered minor head injuries in the attack, Young said.

Police do not believe the robbers got anything other than the car.
