Sgt. Howard Fairchild of the Santa Clarita sheriff's station.

``We've had four armed or strong-arm robberies in the last four evenings,'' Fairchild said Tuesday afternoon. ``We think two might be related, but we're still putting the Black Angus one together.''

The description of the robber in Monday night's attempt at Black Angus - an African-American man wearing a black ski cap, black bandanna on his face and dark-colored clothing - was similar to that of the man who committed an armed robbery last Friday night at a Saugus liquor store, Fairchild said.

In that case, an African-American man wearing a red ski mask and black and dark-colored clothing entered the Qwik Pick liquor store on Bouquet Canyon Road shortly before midnight and pointed a gun at an employee who was stocking shelves.

The gunman, described as 20 to 25 years old, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall and 200 to 210 pounds, demanded the money in the cash register. The employee emptied about $1,000 from the register and handed it to the man, who then walked out the door.

The victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries, Fairchild said.

Another man said that, about 9 p.m. Monday, a few hours before the attempted robbery at Black Angus, he was heading from his vehicle into a liquor store on San Fernando Road San Fernando Road is a major street in the city and county of Los Angeles.
