ROADWAY SERVICES ANNOUNCES OFFICERS ARKON, Ohio, Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Joseph M. Clapp, chairman and
president of Roadway Services, Inc. (NASDAQ: ROAD), announced today that the company's board of directors elected Daniel J. Sullivan as president - national carrier group, effective Jan. 1. Sullivan will also serve as vice president of the company.
Sullivan, 45, will continue to oversee the national carrier group consisting of Roadway Express, Inc. and Roadway Package System, Inc. (RPS). He has served as vice president and group executive of the company since July 1990 and a director of the company since August 1990. He previously served as president of RPS since it began operations in 1985. Sullivan has been with the Roadway organization since 1972. The board of directors has also elected Donald C. Brown as assistant controller, effective Jan. 1. Brown, 36, currently serves as assistant to the vice president and controller and joined Roadway in December 1990. He was formerly a senior audit manager with Ernst & Young in Akron. The board of directors also declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $.30 per share, payable Feb. 1 to holders of record as of Jan. 15. The board of directors also authorized the purchase of up to $30 million of the company's common stock during 1992 for corporate requirements. The stock (NASDAQ: ROAD) closed at $56 on Nov. 12 and as of the end of the third quarter (Sept. 7, 1991), the company had approximately 39,025,000 shares of common stock outstanding. -0- 11/13/91 /CONTACT: D.A.
