ROADMASTER FORECASTS 27 PERCENT INCREASE IN FOURTH QUARTER REVENUES
Net Income Expected at $1.9 Million Level with
1991 Earnings Projected at $.08 Per Share
ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Dec. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Roadmaster Industries Inc. (NASDAQ: WHEL) announced today that it expects a strong financial performance for the fourth quarter and fiscal year ended Dec. 31, 1991. The company said it anticipates unaudited total net revenues for all of its reporting units to be approximately $71.5 million compared to $56.4 million for the same period in 1990. Net income for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, 1991, is projected to be $1.9 million. This compares to a net loss of $3.2 million for the same period in 1990. The increase in net sales for the fourth quarter of 1991 over 1990 represents an increase of approximately 27 percent.
The company went on to say that it expects its total 1991 earnings per share to be approximately $.08. According to Roadmaster Industries' President Henry Fong, the strong 1991 operating and financial performance was attributable to strong demand for the company's bicycles and fitness products, particularly the all-terrain (ATB) or mountain bicycle category and its Vitamaster line of premium treadmills. Fong further noted, "We are pleased to see this dramatic increase, especially in this uncertain economic period and uncooperative retail environment."
Roadmaster Industries Inc. operates through its two wholly owned subsidiaries, Roadmaster Corp. and Hamilton Lamp Corp. Roadmaster Corp. is a leading designer and manufacturer of junior wheel goods, bicyles and health fitness equipment. Hamilton Lamp Corp. is a leading manufacturer of lamps and replacement shades.
