RMS TECHNOLOGIES WINS NASA PHOTOGRAPHIC SERVICES CONTRACT
MARLTON, N.J., March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has awarded a $19 million, five-year photographic support services contract to RMS Photographic Services, a joint venture company of Marlton-based RMS Technologies, an information systems engineering company; and Stokes Imaging Services of Austin, Texas.
The contract, which is scheduled to commence April 1, will support NASA's Johnson Space Center (JSC), Image Sciences Division in Houston.
"We're looking forward to a mutually beneficial working relationship with RMS Photo Services to meet the challenge of major technological changes, such as the rapid increase of electronic applications within the photographic industry," said David Billingsley, chief of JSC's Image Sciences Division. "These technological challenges must be met within significant budgetary constraints without sacrificing the quality of our completed imagery. With RMS, we expect to continue and improve upon the long-standing tradition of photographic excellence provided for support to the Space Shuttle and other JSC programs."
RMS Photographic Services together with subcontractor Dyn Corporation (DynCorp) of Albuquerque, N.M., will support all photographic and motion picture processing requirements for the space center, including on-board spacecraft activities, public relations, engineering/scientific documentation and training. The contract also includes a component for electronic imagery processing, production and management.
"Photographic support services was a logical new business avenue for RMS to pursue since we already have significant experience with NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, in providing photographic and related hardware operations and maintenance," said William Mecca, vice president of RMS' Technical Services Division.
The photographic services contract represents one of several support services contracts RMS Technologies has with NASA and its operations throughout the country. In addition to NASA, RMS provides services to a broad range of government and industry clients. Stokes is a full- service photographic processing as well as a photographic and electronic imaging company. DynCorp is a major technical services contractor to the federal government.
