RMI Announces Fast-Track Awards; Recognizes Industry Leading RailConnect(R) and ShipperConnect(TM) Customers.

ATLANTA -- RMI, the market leader and largest independent provider of accurate, reliable, comprehensive and secure rail information services to the transportation industry, announces today the 2006 Fast-Track Award winners. The Fast-Track award is designed to recognize RMI's RailConnect and ShipperConnect "power users," those that maximize the value of RMI's services by implementing procedures that result in more comprehensive automation of manual processes, improved information capture and reporting, greater accounting control, enhanced asset management or more efficient processes in any capacity.

"We created the Fast-Track awards to honor those customers that are demonstrating unique and creative ways of improving their businesses through the use of RMI's products and services," says Paul Pascutti, vice president of RMI. "The winners are 12 exemplary models of how RMI's services can be used to streamline processes and improve procedures."

2006 Winners

The following 2006 winners are being recognized by various internal and external promotions within the industry. Winners will also be recognized at the 2006 RMI Users' Group meeting held in June.

--DME/ICE: By utilizing the RailConnect query tool to extract information, DMI/ICE now has the flexibility to work with data and custom-designed reports based upon individual needs.

--Chicago South Shore and South Bend Railroad: With the launch of RMI's ShipperConnect Freight Management System, CSS is offering its customers a tool that enables easy car management, timely and accurate shipping data and extensive reporting.

--Minnesota, Dakota and Western Railway/International Bridge and Terminal: The MDW/IBT has improved it productivity by automating clerical functions, loading railcars by EDI bill of lading and sending electronic fright using RMI's Automated Manifest System.

--Tacoma Rail: Through an inventive and unique use of RailConnect, Microsoft Access, SQL Server and Active Server Pages, TMBL has created more than 100 custom railroad management tools.

--CIRR (Rail Link): The implementation of mCrew on the CIRR has been valuable in maintaining equipment inventory. Timely reporting of interchanges, spots and pull are now free of errors and confusion.

--Terminal Railroad Association of Saint Louis: TRRA's utilization of EMS application tools has resulted in a 55 percent reduction in car hire payables. Currently over 95 percent of all TRRA's local customer base utilizes the ShipperConnect and e-BOL applications.

--Suburban Energy: Through the use of ShipperConnect Freight Management System (FMS), Suburban Energy has been able to merge multiple tasks from several unrelated systems into FMS, thus eliminating duplicate entry of information.

--Port Terminal Railroad Association: Since implementing RailConnect in October of 2002, PTRA has originated a sophisticated use of AEI readers, Inbound Blocking Tables and ShipperConnect to become a leader in automation.

--Montreal, Maine and Atlantic Railway: The MMA's reporting capabilities have been significantly enhanced with the use of SuperTrip for care management, revenues auditing, customer service and senior management reports.

--St. Lawrence & Atlantic Railway Co.: With the help of RMI's Automated Manifest System (AMS), the SLR successfully crosses the US-Canada border daily with no fines and minimal difficulty.

--Chemis de fer du Quebec/Quebec Railway Corporation: Through the use of RMI's technology, the CFQ has received numerous special recognitions. At the 2004 and 2005 CN short line conference, CFQ was recognized for the best overall TRAIN II reporting with a 99.5 percent reporting average. In 2005, CFQ was awarded the Marketing Innovation award for its use of various SuperTrip and RailConnect reports.

--New Brunswick Southern Railway: By adding ShipperConnect to the RailConnect suite of products it was already using, NBSR has improved a two-day cycle time, resulting in increased revenues plus the additional monies from off-line earnings.

Criteria

Choices for the Fast-Track awards were based on demonstration of the following criteria:

--Consistently high percentage compliance with TRAIN II reporting standards,

--Advanced management reporting through SuperTrip, RailConnect Query Tool, or other third-party tools,

--Use of RailConnect EMS services to better control car hire costs or increase fleet earnings,

--Advanced use of ShipperConnect FMS services to improve fleet performance and customer service,

--Advanced use of automation to report events using tools such as AEI and m-Crew,

--Use of advanced RailConnect features such as Inbound Blocking Tables to automate manual processes,

--Utilization of tools such as e-BOL and ShipperConnect to automate the flow of information between the railroad and its customers,

--Utilization of custom interfaces to integrate the railroad with the logistics and production departments of large facilities, and

--Any other examples of automating cumbersome and manual processes such as customs, switching and miscellaneous billing, automated scale interfaces or Intermodal.
