RJK reports on it's Brazilian Properties Exploration results.

KIRKLAND LAKE, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 14, 1997-- (Alberta Stock Exchange:RJX.A.) Mr. Robert Kasner, President of RJK Explorations Ltd., "RJK", is pleased to report on work completed to date on the Company's Brazilian Properties.

GURUPI PROPERTY

This 100 percent owned 25,000 acre property located in Maranaho State, Brazil, is comprised of two individual blocks of claims. The South Block forms a contiguous land holding of 20,000 acres, while the 5,000 acre Pica Pau claim block is located approximately 8 kilometres to the northwest. All exploration activities to date have been concentrated on a relatively small area within the Pica Pau claim block, which consisted of backhoe excavated trenching, trench sampling, auger soil sampling, geological mapping and limited diamond drilling.

Results of this work, in so far as work completed and anticipated assay results, have been below expectations, however, within the Pica Pau claims, two additional areas show excellent potential to host a major gold resource. They are known as the Capoeiro and Cambalacho areas and are proximal to, and on strike, with TVX Gold Inc. and Santa Fe Pacific Gold Corporation's Gurupi Project, which was recently reported by the companies to host a 2.4 million ounce gold resource. This Project will see an aggressive drilling program and feasibility study initiated during 1997.

The Southern Block has seen ancient, as well as, current garimpero workings along a 9 kilometre strike length. This mineralized horizon lies within the TVX, Santa Fe, Pica Pau geological trend and has reported recovered gold grades in excess of 10 grams per tonne. The gold occurs in free form and with sulphides in highly sheared intermediate to felsic rocks, containing multiple sets of parallel quartz veins and veinlets which obtain an overall width of approximately 400 metres. NOVO MUNDO PROPERTY

This 100 percent owned 2,000 hectare property, located in the State of Mato Grosso, Brazil, is seeing continuing exploration activity by RJK. To date, line cutting and two diamond drill holes have been completed on the Property. The drill holes were section drilled under the Luizao Garimpero Pit, where previous channel sampling by RJK reported good gold values. (see press release of February 11, 1997) Core samples from the first hole have been submitted to Bondar Clegg Assay Laboratories of Brazil, a Canadian affiliated assay laboratory, while the second hole is currently being logged, split and sent for assay. Results will be released as soon as they are available.

RJK's Geophysical Consultant is now on the Property to conduct Magnetometer and Induced Polarization Geophysical Surveys. RJK has retained the services of MPH Consulting, of Toronto, as Technical Consultants and are currently completing a follow up work plan with the intent of a determined exploration campaign on the Properties during 1997.

The Properties have attracted the attention of several Majors, as well as, Junior Mining Companies. RJK is a Canadian Mineral Exploration and Development Company, with explorations Projects in Canada and Brazil. There are currently 12,420,893 shares issued. -0-
