Padilla campaign consultant Rick Taylor dismissed Sanchez's hit piece against his candidate, saying voters who had discounted Padilla because of his age would not be swayed by the piece.

He said it was an unfair comparison because it failed to show Padilla's accomplishments as a youth, such as fighting crime through his Neighborhood Watch group as a 10-year-old and serving as high school president.

``Here's a young man that we should be saluting, rather than tearing him down,'' said Taylor.

Candidate Raul Godinez II predicted that the hit pieces would be a benefit to the other four candidates, who so far have managed to stay out of the hailstorm See .NET My Services.  of negative mail.
