RISING EDGE TECHNOLOGIES SUPPORTS NEW DICOM STORAGE APPLIANCE.

Rising Edge Technologies offers their Jukebox A storage device for multiple sets of CD-ROMs, DVDs, tape cartridges or disk modules. Using carousels, robot arms and other methods, a jukebox physically moves the storage medium from its assigned location to an optical or magnetic station for reading and writing.  Server products to create a new standard for medical image storage.

In conjunction with FileLink (Bloomington, MN), Rising Edge will demonstrate a DICOM (medical, standard) DICOM - (From Digital Imaging and COmmunications in Medicine) A standard developed by ACR-NEMA (American College of Radiology - National Electrical Manufacturer's Association) for communications between medical imaging devices.  (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) is a standard for handling, storing, printing, and transmitting information in medical imaging. It includes a file format definition and a network communications protocol. ) compliant storage solution at the RSNA RSNA Radiological Society of North America, Inc.

Rising Edge developed their complete family of Jukebox Servers to ease the integration of archive quality storage into a complete storage product offering. The hardware-based Jukebox Server supports "software-free" connectivity and parallel support of optical libraries for improved performance and RAID level availability.

Jukebox Servers support Magneto magneto: see generator.

RAM library systems from a variety of manufacturers. The joint product development with FileLink is part of Rising Edge Technologies on-going efforts in working with vendors to utilize optical libraries in applications beyond traditional hierarchical storage.

The DICOM Appliance represents the first medical systems application of this technology. By including the Jukebox Server in the DICOM Appliance, high-volume imaging environments can benefit from a fully integrated storage solution featuring a dual-commit optical archive. "The combination of FileLink software with the high performance caching, jukebox mirroring, and single volume access of our Jukebox Server offers a better way for medical system integrators and OEMs to satisfy the archive requirements associated with imaging data." says Michael Schutte, President of Rising Edge Technologies.

FileLink Medical Archive Software (MAS) delivers DICOM compliance to support the exchange of digital information between medical imaging equipment.

The DICOM Appliance will be demonstrated in FileLink's booth 6510 at McCormick Place Coordinates:

Storage Solutions. The Jukebox Server allows the complete DICOM Appliance with DVD support to be competitively priced from $70,000 for a 500 GB solution to $150,000 for a 2.5 TB solution.

Rising Edge will also work with integrators to customize a turnkey storage offering designed to achieve their overall system goals for performance and archive.

The Jukebox Server is part of a family of hardware products representing Rising Edge Technologies extensive experience in storage solutions using optical disk technology.

From the companies groundbreaking development of Magneto Optical RAID systems in 1995 through the release of the Jukebox Server products, Rising Edge continues to offer simplified methods of connecting and managing high capacity optical library systems in a variety of computing computing - computer  environments.

More details on the entire Jukebox Server line are available on the company's web site at www.risingedge.com. For more information on developing archive solutions using the Jukebox Server products, contact Mr. Michael Schutte at 703/471-8108 or mschutte@risinedge.com.
