It didn't take long for the Angels to shrug off those bitter losses in Boston.

The streaking Angels swept a doubleheader from Cleveland on Monday night. Anaheim moved within 2-1/2 games of first-place Seattle in the AL West by beating the Indians 2-0 and 10-7.

The Angels shut out the Indians in Cleveland for the first time in 15 years, then got a grand slam grand slam

Percival blew Saturday's game against the Red Sox.

``I just didn't have it,'' Percival said. ``I tried to throw hard, but I just didn't have anything on the ball.''

Anderson hit a mammoth grand slam off Orel Hershiser

``For Garret to hit the grand slam really pepped us up,'' Angels manager Terry Collins said.

In the first game, Dennis Springer (6-4) became the second knuckleballer to shut out Cleveland on this homestand, outdueling Bartolo Colon 2-0. Anaheim had blown two straight ninth-inning leads in Boston - one of them on Mo Vaughn's three-run homer off Percival.

``Troy is tired,'' Collins said. ``He says there is nothing physically wrong, so that's what it is.''

Percival gave up a walk and David Justice's sacrifice fly before walking two more to load the bases in the ninth. Michael Holtz got pinch hitter Tony Fernandez on a grounder to third for his second save.

``Mike Holtz has been absolutely great,'' Collins said. ``He saved us tonight.''

Pep Harris (2-2) allowed one run in 2-1/3 innings for the victory in relief of starter Matt Perisho, who was called up from Triple-A Vancouver and allowed five runs, four hits and six walks in 3-1/3 innings.

Left-hander Darrell May pitched 2-2/3 innings of two-hit relief.

Hershiser gave up two straight hits and a walk in the fourth before striking out Tim Salmon. Then Anderson hit his second career grand slam to tie it at 4.

Hershiser allowed six runs and five hits, walking three and striking out three. He was pulled with Cleveland leading 5-4 in the fifth after giving up a double to Tony Phillips and walking Dave Hollins.
