RIMS launches online tool to aid risk managers.


The Risk and Insurance Management Society Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc. (RIMS), founded in 1950, is a membership-based industry trade group, representing nearly 4,000 industrial, service, nonprofit, charitable, and governmental entities and serves more than 10,000 risk management professionals around the , Inc. has launched the Quality Improvement Process Wizard Instructional help in an application or system development environment that guides the user through a series of multiple choice questions to accomplish a task. For the most part, wizards are more effective than the help menus found in most applications, which often border on the atrocious. , an online, confidential tool to help risk managers, brokers, insurers, claims service and safety and loss control providers communicate and measure their performance expectations. The wizard enables the risk manager and business partner to select from 29 guidelines guidelines,
n.pl a set of standards, criteria, or specifications to be used or followed in the performance of certain tasks.
 to define each party's role in the relationship and create a customized service agreement. The wizard also provides a convenient way to evaluate the quality of performance. Partnership agreements are retained in a repository (1) A database of information about applications software that includes author, data elements, inputs, processes, outputs and interrelationships. A repository is used in a CASE or application development system in order to identify objects and business rules for reuse.  that is secure and easy to manage.

The new wizard is based on the three guiding principles of transparency (1) The quality of being able to see through a material. The terms transparency and translucency are often used synonymously; however, transparent would technically mean "seeing through clear glass," while translucent would mean "seeing through frosted glass."
