The reason Royal had never posted a road win against the Falcons, Royal coach Steve Snyder said, has been their difficulty adjusting to Crescenta Valley's narrow pool. Richeson also remembered playing here two years ago.

``They know their pool well. This is a real small pool,'' he said. ``They were touch-passing us like crazy.''

Richeson's sixth goal came as time expired.

``He's one of the best players we've seen as far as pure shooting ability,'' C.V. coach Pete Loporchio said.

While Richeson was scoring, Nate Ball was handling things defensively for Royal. It was Ball's job to stop C.V.'s two-meter player from scoring, which he did often, making things easier for goalie Garret Herzer, who made four saves.
