RICHARD G. BURTON NAMED EXECUTIVE
VICE PRESIDENT OF PAPER CORPORATION INTERNATIONAL
VALLEY FORGE, Pa., Nov. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Richard G. Burton has been named executive vice president of Paper Corporation International, the global marketing affiliate of Paper Corporation of America (PCA).
In this newly created role, he will assist in managing an increasing pace of activity in PCA's international operations.
Burton, 55, will report to Robert F. Fitzgerald, president of Paper Corporation International.
"Today the marketplace for fine printing papers observes few national boundaries," Fitzgerald said. "Dick's years of experience in the industry will serve us well as we build new alliances and partnerships worldwide."
Paper Corporation International, headquartered in Philadelphia, was formed in 1989 to consolidate offshore purchasing for PCA's network of 20 operating companies throughout North America, increase the export of products from PCA's domestic suppliers in overseas markets, and identify opportunities for PCA's global expansion, principally in Europe.
Burton, a 1958 graduate of Duke University, has spent his entire career in the paper industry. After serving with Riegel Paper and Mead in various sales and management positions, he joined Paper Corporation of America in 1982. Most recently, he was vice president-marketing for printing papers at PCA.
Paper Corporation of America, an Alco Standard (NYSE: ASN) company headquartered in Valley Forge, is one of the world's largest paper distribtutors, with annual sales of $3.6 billion.
Alco Standard, also headquartered in Valley Forge, is a publicly held distribution and services company. For its fiscal year ended Sept. 30, 1991, revenues were $4.8 billion.
