 RICHARD A. FINK ELECTED SENIOR EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT


OF GLENFED INC. AND GLENDALE FEDERAL BANK; NAMED A DIRECTOR OF THE BANK
 GLENDALE, Calif., May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Richard A. Fink has been elected senior executive vice president and general counsel of GLENFED Inc. (NYSE: GLN), and senior executive vice president and chief legal officer of Glendale Federal Bank. He also was named a director of Glendale Federal Bank.
 Fink, 51, joins the bank after having served as a partner since 1980 with the law firm of McKenna & Fitting, the principal outside counsel to the bank. In this capacity, he has been actively involved in advising the bank with respect to regulatory and legal aspects of the implementation of its strategic plan and capital raising activities.
 Commented Stephen J. Trafton, GLENFED's chief executive officer and recently elected chairman, in announcing Fink's appointment, "We are extremely pleased to have Dick join our senior management team. He brings to the company an already well developed working knowledge of the company and its important legal issues."
 Fink's experience over the last 20 years has been primarily concerned with representation of financial institutions. His practice has concentrated on counseling in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financing, and regulatory capital compliance.
 Prior to joining McKenna & Fitting in 1980, Fink served eight years as an attorney with O'Melveny & Myers. Previously he had been a law clerk with the Honorable George E. MacKinnon, U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, Washington, D.C.
 Fink holds a bachelor of arts degree from Stanford University, a master of business administration degree from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a doctor of laws degree from the Stanford Law School.
 He and his wife Andrea and their two children reside in Pacific Palisades.
