RFS Introduces Two-Way MMDS Base Station/Hub Antenna; Provides broadband wireless data and Internet service to homes and businesses and to Mobile wireless subscribers.

Business & Technology Editors

MERIDEN, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 20, 2001

Radio Frequency Systems announced today the introduction of a new base station/hub antenna designed to provide two-way broadband wireless data and Internet connection to homes and businesses as well as to mobile wireless subscribers.

The antenna is also an excellent choice for Internet Service Providers (ISPs) utilizing the unlicensed 2.4 GHz ISM band as well as for WLL See wireless local loop and PHS-WLL.  applications with point-to-point and point-to-multipoint configurations.

Developed specifically for two-way MMDS (Multichannel Multipoint Distribution Service or Microwave Multipoint Distribution Service) A digital wireless transmission system that works in the 2.2-2.4 GHz range.  applications in the 2.4-2.7 GHz microwave frequency range, the new antenna utilizes patented radiating element technology that rejects interference from cross polarized A one-way direction of a signal or the molecules within a material pointing in one direction.  sources and exceeds the stringent polarization isolation requirements mandated by the FCC (1) (Federal Communications Commission, Washington, DC, www.fcc.gov) The U.S. government agency that regulates interstate and international communications including wire, cable, radio, TV and satellite. The FCC was created under the U.S. .

The unit's vertical patterns have been tailored to conform to a cosecant cosecant: see trigonometry.  squared power envelope, which produces the optimum amount of null fill and upper sidelobe suppression. This type of vertical pattern yields optimum fixed wireless coverage from close-in to fringe regions in the coverage area.

The horizontal patterns have been optimized for high front to back ratio and quick H-plane roll off, resulting in more efficient usage of frequencies and greater system capacity.

Because MMDS antennas are typically mounted on high towers or mountain tops, they must be capable of withstanding the severe weather conditions often associated with these locations.  humidity, driving rain, temperature shock, ice loading, and dynamic wind vibration. This insures that the antenna will perform as required in both good and bad weather.

Each MMDS antenna is covered by the unmatched 5-year RFS warranty.
